1973 Tenor Saxophone SELMER Mark VI, #204443 – A real Showstopper

When I write “Showstopper,” I mean it affectionately, because when I played this beautiful 1973 SELMER Mark VI tenor saxophone, that word just slipped out the moment I took my first test blow!

Yes, it radiates a powerful sound, yet it never loses its focus on the core of the tone—a characteristic for which the SELMER Mark VI is renowned, along with many other attributes.

Its overtone structure is also well-defined but not too intense, so it remains easy to control.

The finish is almost completely intact; there are minor scratches and signs of wear here and there, and the rim of the bell appears to have once had a small dent, which was, however, removed some time ago. All in all, this 1973 SELMER Mark VI has held up very well over the past 50 years.

A beautiful Mark VI that’s well-suited for pop, rock, and funk—and, depending on your taste, perhaps even for classical music.
