SELMER Mark VII Alto Saxophone, 1st Hand, #307053, high F#, overhauled

It’s always a pleasure to offer saxophones with a known history. That’s certainly the case with this SELMER Mark VII alto saxophone, which was built in 1980 and given to its first owner as a gift from his mother a few months later. He started playing with this saxophone and enjoyed using it right through his college years. It was played for about 10 years and then used only sporadically afterward. That’s why he’s now decided to pass his SELMER Mark 7 alto on to someone who’ll enjoy playing it more!

We’ve just given this saxophone a complete overhaul in our SAXOPHONIC workshop, fitting it with the highest-quality CHANU pads, which we’ve equipped with plastic resonators—just as the SELMER Mark VII came from the factory.

Technically, it’s now in perfect working order, and visually there’s nothing to complain about either: this Mark 7 apparently hasn’t suffered any major damage from being dropped or similar incidents; the knee joint, body, and S-bend are still in perfect shape—there’s only a slight irregularity in the rim of the bell, which you can feel more than see! The lacquer is also almost completely intact; there are only a few small scratches here and there (e.g., around the suspension eyelet) that can be described as normal signs of wear.

SELMER Mark VII models sound quite similar to the legendary Mark VI models from the final years of production; only the ergonomics differ from those of the Mark VI. For this reason, Mark VII models are becoming increasingly popular, as they are available at a significantly lower price!
