1971 Tenor Saxophone SELMER Mark VI, high F# – #192245

Here we have a 1971 SELMER Mark VI tenor saxophone with a high F#, in a gold-lacquer finish with engraving, which we acquired fully refurbished and have just fine-tuned in our SAXOPHONIC workshop.

This Mark VI tenor saxophone has clearly been played a lot. The mother-of-pearl key inlays are already noticeably worn smooth, and there are visible signs of wear, such as lacquer abrasion next to the thumb hook, and scratch marks on the suspension loop and the rim of the bell (presumably from a clip-on microphone). The S-bend once had a pickup, which was removed at some point in the past.

Otherwise, approximately 85% of the gold lacquer remains intact.

All in all, this SELMER Mark VI is still in good condition. There is no visible damage from drops.

This 1971 Mark VI plays superbly, has beautiful volume and warmth in the lower register, and—combined with its brilliance in the middle and upper registers—results in a lovely blend that’s well-suited for many musical styles!
