Very well-tended 1974 Tenor Saxophone SELMER Mark VI, 221xxx
Now in the Advent special! Don’t miss a surprise—follow our Advent Calendar daily.
A really well-tended SELMER Mark VI tenor saxophone that is already 50 years old is rare to find. That’s why we are happy to be able to offer this beautiful example!
It was built in 1974 and does not look like a saxophone that is already half a century old. On the contrary, it looks more like a SELMER saxophone in mint condition: There are no major dents or dings, and the varnish is still virtually intact. If you look very closely, you can see a very tiny dent on the body and the tiniest scratches here and there, which are more evidence that this SELMER Mark VI was actually played and not stored in a case for decades. Because, as we know, it is important that a saxophone is played so that it can unfold its true splendor.
We also noticed that the octave key attachment on the neck was re-soldered in earlier times. The work was done cleanly, the lacquer is slightly burnt at this point due to the heat from soldering and is therefore darker.
This 221xxx SELMER Mark VI still has its original pads, but it is still playable in this condition! Of course, it should be overhauled shortly so that it meets professional standards. We offer the new owner a SAXOPHONIC general overhaul at a special price (regular price € 1.580,–, special price € 1.264,–)
This Mark VI is being sold in its current condition at a price of € 8,400
