1980 SELMER Mark VI Baritone Saxophone, low A, overhauled, 306xxx
We often get inquiries about SELMER saxophones that are labeled as Mark VI, although they should actually be a Mark 7 based on their serial number. After all, the official serial number list from SELMER would show that Mark VIs were only built up to serial number 220800.
However, Henri SELMER Paris only made the Mark 7 as an alto and tenor saxophone (although there were a few Mark 7 baritone saxophones, which are more Mark VI with Mark VII stamps). Sopranino, soprano, baritone and bass saxophones were still being built as Mark VI until the 1980s. More information “SELMER serial numbers”…
So here we have a genuine Mark VI baritone saxophone, equipped with low-A. It was built in 1980 and has been played professionally for the last few decades. The Bari was recently overhauled and we have just fine-tuned it in our SAXOPHONIC workshop. Technically, it is flawless and ready for immediate use.
Although there are scratches here and there and a few small dents, it has apparently not suffered any major damage from being dropped. The knee and the upper bow are still in perfect shape and the neck still has its original scale length.
Come by and test this beautiful Mark VI baritone saxophone. Please make an appointment! We look forward to seeing you!
